The Slow Studio – Shifting Horizons: Torn Paper Landscapes of the Shropshire Hills

📅 24th June 2025
⏰ 10 AM – 4 PM
📍 Mustard and Gray Studio

Join us for a full-day creative retreat exploring the layered beauty of the Shropshire Hills through the expressive medium of torn paper collage. Taking inspiration from rolling contours, shifting light, and the ever-changing horizon, this workshop is an opportunity to slow down, observe, and create with intention.

In collaboration with Peg Boarders, this session is part of The Slow Studio series, designed as a gentle, immersive experience with plenty of time to experiment, reflect, and refine your composition. Using a carefully curated selection of papers, textures, and colours, we’ll explore how to translate the movement of land and sky into layered torn-paper landscapes.

What to Expect

  • A relaxed, welcoming environment with guidance from Mustard and Gray & Peg Boarders
  • Exploration of composition, depth, and colour blending using torn paper techniques
  • A focus on capturing the textures, light, and atmosphere of the Shropshire Hills
  • Time to develop a larger-scale artwork, perfect for framing or incorporating into mixed-media work

This workshop is perfect for artists, makers, and anyone drawn to the beauty of the natural world. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to expand your creative practice, this session offers a chance to connect with the landscape, embrace slow creativity, and take home a unique piece of art.
